• This Week

  • We would like to give you a very warm welcome to our church and community. We are a vibrant, loving, child-friendly, inclusive parish within the catholic Anglican tradition of the Church of England in Central Barnet. We have a multi-generational congregation which reflects the cultural diversity of London life. We offer a traditional, friendly and relaxed approach to worship. We are noted for being toddler-tolerant and children are central to our church.

Our vision at St John’s is to develop a caring community with a vibrant all-age worshipping congregation that is compassionate to the needs of our community. We wish to be as creative as possible to show the people of Whetstone that God loves them and that we care for them.

Praise and thanksgiving are at the heart of all we do and we encourage our neighbours and community to join us in our fellowship activities.

  • Tuesday 13th February: 6:30pm Pancakes and Prayers in Church – Please advise Revd Lynn and/or Marguerite whether you will be attending so that we know how much supplies we need.
If you haven’t done so already, please bring your Palm Crosses from last year when you come today. They will be used to create the Ashes for Ash Wednesday.

Wednesday 14th February – Ash Wednesday:

10.30 am Eucharist with imposition of Ashes.

With Easter approaching, why not order your Fairtrade Real Easter Egg early by putting your name on the list at the back of the church. Included with these Eggs is a book of the Easter Story. Orders need to be in by the end of February and Alison Jackson is co-ordinating this.

Bible Study sessions every Wednesday 11:45 and 19:30. Both sessions last about 90 minutes.
Evening Prayer every Wednesday at 5:15 pm
